Liposuction

Liposuction (Suction-Assisted & Ultrasound-Assisted Lipectomy) has become very popular in recent years largely due to the effectiveness of the procedure. It is a technique used to remove unwanted fat deposits from specific areas of the body. The ideal patient should be close to their ideal body weight. Liposuction can then be used to fine tune areas of diet and exercise resistant, localized fat regions.

Procedure

• By using a tube and high vacuum device, the surgeon can remove unwanted fatty deposits in many areas of the body. The procedure takes 1-2 hours or more, depending on the extent of the surgery. The procedure is performed in an operating room as an out patient.

Side Effects:

• Temporary swelling, bruising, numbness, burning sensations and/or soreness.

Recovery:

• Back to Work 1-2 weeks
• More strenuous activity 2- weeks.
• Swelling & bruising 1-6 months or more.
• Patient must wear post-operative garment for 4-6 weeks.

Fees:

• $3800 and up.
  Price is based on O.R. time and how many areas of the body are treated.

Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck) is a surgical procedure used to tighten the abdominal wall muscles and removing excess fat and skin from the abdominal region. This procedure is common in men and women. Women often have the procedure after multiple pregnancies to improve their abdominal appearance. Patients should be near or at their ideal body weight.

Procedure

• The surgeon will make an incision along the pubic area and around the navel. The abdominal muscles are tightened with sutures. Excess skin is removed after the abdominal skin is drawn downward. This procedure usually takes 2-5 hours and is performed in an operating room with an overnight stay.

Side Effects:

• Swelling, bruising, soreness, weakness for several weeks or months.

Recovery:

• Back to work 2-4 weeks.
• More strenuous activity 4-6 weeks.
• Scar fading 3 months to 2 years.
• Drains are in place for 3-10 days.
• Patient must wear a post-operative garment for 4 weeks.
• Patients must not stand up straight for 1-2 weeks.

Fees:

• $7000 and up.
  Price based on O.R. time used.
