Kybella Conveniently located to serve St. Louis

KYBELLA® is an FDA-approved injectable used for minimally invasive reduction of excess fat under their chin. At Paul Rottler MD, we provide KYBELLA® in St. Louis to help our patients achieve a more sculpted facial profile.

    What is KYBELLA® (deoxycholic acid) injection 10 mg/mL ?

KYBELLA® is a prescription medicine used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also called “double chin.”

    Am I a Good Candidate for KYBELLAⓇ?

Patients with good skin elasticity in the submental region are excellent candidates for KYBELLAⓇ. This treatment is an ideal option for patients who want to reduce their double chin without surgery.
Candidates should have realistic expectations and must be willing to commit to the entire treatment plan for optimal results. It is not known if KYBELLA® is safe and effective for use outside of the submental area or in children less than 18 years of age.

    Who should not receive KYBELLA®?

Kybella before and afterYou should not receive KYBELLA® if you have an infection in the treatment area.

    Your Consultation

Before receiving KYBELLA®, tell your healthcare provider about all of your medical conditions, including if you: Have had or plan to have surgery on your face, neck, or chin; have had cosmetic treatments on your face, neck, or chin; have had or have medical conditions in or near the neck area; have had or have trouble swallowing; have bleeding problems; are pregnant or plan to become pregnant (it is not known if KYBELLA® will harm your unborn baby); are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed (it is not known if KYBELLA® passes into your breast milk; talk to your healthcare provider about the best way to feed your baby if you receive KYBELLA®).
Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Especially tell your healthcare provider if you take a medicine that prevents the clotting of your blood (antiplatelet or anticoagulant medicine).

    The KYBELLA® Treatment Session

Each KYBELLA® treatment session will last between 15 and 20 minutes. It starts by administering a local anesthetic to the treatment area. Once the region is numbed, Dr. Rottler or Dr. Hulsey will inject a precise amount of KYBELLAⓇ to various sites in the submental region.
Each session will have 20 to 50 injections delivered into the treatment area. To achieve ideal results, a patient will need up to six treatment sessions, with a one-month interval between sessions.

    Aftercare

The patient can go home on the same day of the treatment session. Minimal recovery is needed, and the patient can get back to regular activities quickly. Minor side effects like swelling and bruising may be experienced; Dr. Rottler and Dr. Hulsey will provide aftercare instructions to help minimize these side effects.
The patient will see reduction of excess fat in the neck, chin, and jawline after each session. It will take around two to four sessions before significant improvement can be achieved.
