Lisa’s MicroLaser Peel
My first laser treatment is in the books! Here is a step by step look at my experience so far:
PreTreatment:
Kristen and I met in the Visia Complexion Analysis room where she took a few pictures of my face. She then performed a full Visia Complexion Analysis to see where my skin needed improvement. See my Visia Complexion Analysis results below. Because most of my numbers were fairly high (higher numbers are better than lower numbers) Kristen decided a MicroLaser Peel would be the best course of action. This would treat the overall tone and texture of my skin.
After my analysis, Kristen and I went into the laser room to begin my treatment. Numbing cream was placed on my face for about 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, the numbing cream was wiped away, goggles were placed on my eyes, and my treatment was ready to begin.
Treatment:
Kristen started the treatment on my forehead. A device called the Zimmer Chiller was used simultaneously with the laser to reduce any pain the heat of the laser may cause. The laser makes a loud clicking sound when in use. Honestly, the clicking noise was the only indication that my treatment was underway. I felt no pain! As Kristen moved down towards my temple, I did began to feel a slight stinging when the laser was in use. Once she completed that pass, the pain was gone.
When a section of my treatment was complete, cooling gel was placed over the treated areas to prevent any discomfort. Kristen continued with my treatment until all areas of my face were treated. My entire MicroLaser Peel only took 10 minutes!
Post Treatment:
Now that my treatment was complete, Kristen coated my face in Aquaphor to keep it moisturized. I was instructed to cleanse my face twice a day with a gentle cleanser and keep my face protected with Aquaphor for 48 hours. I do have some redness and slight discomfort. It is no worse than a mild sunburn, though.
